Disney’s Once Upon A Dream Parade

Disneyland offers a whole host of amazing entertainment, including shows, countless attractions, and of course; parades.
In the summer visitors can experience the Fantillusion Parade, complete with stunning sounds and effects, plus all the evil villains. This parade focuses on the triumph of good over evil.

In this post, however, we’ll be focusing on a very special parade indeed- Disney’s Once Upon A Dream Parade.

Disney’s Once Upon A Dream Parade is a new parade that was originally produced for the extended 15th Anniversary Celebrations. Now, in July 2008, this marvellous parade continues to travel around Disneyland every single day.

You may be thinking “But what makes this different from any old parade?”.

To start with, the floats have been redesigned, with two separate ‘scenes’ on each one; one scene on each end. This means that the number of floats can be decreased, making a dramatic saving in costs, and that there is always something to watch, rather than the waiting which can sometimes occur inbetween floats.

Secondly, in a technical age, many new real, and animatronic characters have been added to the floats. In particular there is Scar, the King’s jealous brother in the animated movie ‘The Lion King’, which moves its head and body realistically, and moves its mouth when singing.

Also included in this new parade are various new aromas that have been added to the floats, so when a particular float travels past, you will smell the general aroma of that scene.
